Awarded for Building of the Year 2019, the Katra Trade project was realized in cooperation with FORMA STUDIO. The concept of the project was inspired by the field of activity of the company KATRA TRADE, namely the production of metal structures and steel elements. The interior of the building is minimalist, featuring raw materials such as concrete and metal. The building’s main levels are connected by a double-armed cantilevered staircase constructed of free-standing metal steps anchored in massive reinforced concrete walls. All steps are lined with granite tiles with a thickness of only 3.5 mm. with a view to achieving minimum dimensions of the individual steps. This necessitates the use of high-tech products, such as the new granite tiles reinforced with an additional layer of fiberglass. The interior design of the building follows its architecture. A large part of the elements of the exterior design find a place in the interior as well.
The fact that the interior design is designed in parallel with the architecture also helps a lot. This collaboration helps the architecture of the building to transform itself into its own and unique design.
